A rather unconventional artist,Hubert Oddo is deeply attached to the notion of freedom of creation to a purely aesthetic end.
There is no premeditation and no intention in his painting.
The canvas is painted,then erased in order to be painted again,differently,better;again and again until the organisation of forms and colours find their own harmony.
The drawings exhibited in his studio are more figurative with each brush stoke representing an attitude,a movement.
If one were to resume Hubert Oddo's work ,it would perhaps be that he "feeds the imagination";his work seems to have found a balance between suggestion and sensuality.
Always pure,always simple.
